Humidifier wick — seat it flush to the frame top lip

Humidifier wick

A humidifier wick that sits below the frame lip can dry unevenly. Seat the top edge flush so the humidifier filter wets evenly — one beat.

A humidifier wick that sits too low in the frame leaves a dry band at the top and weak mist. After you match thickness to the rails, seat the top edge flush with the frame lip so the whole humidifier filter can wet evenly.

  1. Rinse or prep the new wick as your manual allows, then slide it into the frame so the media fills the rails without folding at a corner.
  2. Push gently until the top edge of the wick lines up with the frame’s top lip — not sunken a finger-width below, and not bulging past the plastic.
  3. Reassemble the housing, fill with the water type you normally use, and run a short cycle. Mist should feel steady; a dry corner often means the wick slipped low again.
  4. If the wick will not sit flush because it is the wrong thickness, stop forcing it — match the wick size chart instead of crushing the media.

Honest stop: ultrasonic units without a wick will not gain mist from a frame tip — empty the tank and clean the base path instead.
