A thin band of reflective tape on the forearm helps car headlights and flashlights pick out an Optimus-style helper at dusk. These robot accessories ideas keep the tape small and away from anything that moves.

Optimus forearm reflective tape, clear of joints and sensors

  1. Use a soft, removable fabric band with reflective trim. Avoid adhesive tape stuck straight onto the robot.
  2. Place it in the middle of the forearm, between the elbow and the wrist, never over either joint.
  3. Keep it clear of any camera, sensor or vent on the hand and wrist.
  4. Move the arm through its full range. If the band shifts toward a joint or catches a seam, refit or remove it.
