A soft knee pad can look practical for demo “chores” without binding the knee hinge. Keep foam and straps clear of the joint crease and any shin sensors. This is a CoraCo Studio™ robot accessories / Optimus accessories how-to idea for humanoid robot accessories — not affiliated with Tesla.

Soft knee pad that stays clear of knee joints

  1. Choose a soft, lightweight pad with stretch straps — no hard shells, metal buckles, or thick armor plates that could jam the knee crease.
  2. Seat the pad on the front of the lower thigh / upper shin zone only — leave the knee hinge line, side joint covers, and any shin path markers uncovered.
  3. Use soft peel-off straps that do not wrap through the joint gap; never drill into factory leg panels or block walking sensors at the shin.
  4. Walk-test a squat and a few steps: if knee travel hesitates or a joint cover rubs, remove the pad or shrink the coverage — soft accessory ideas only.

Honest stop: anything that locks the knee, covers joint seams, or hard-mounts into the leg shell is out of scope — soft accessory ideas only, no Tesla parts claims.
