Garage door remote — label which button opens each door

Garage remote

Garage door remote tip: test each button once and put a small label on it, so family members and guests open the right garage door the first time.

On a two- or three-button garage door remote, nobody remembers which button runs which door. A quick test and a tiny label fixes that for good.

Test and label each garage door remote button

  1. Stand where you can see every door and press each button once, slowly.
  2. Note which door moves, and mark any button that does nothing as spare.
  3. Add a small label or dot sticker next to each button (left door, right door, spare).
  4. Do the same on the visor remote and any spare so they all match.

That is the whole tip. Blank buttons can be programmed later if you ever add an opener.
