Garage door remote — retest range from mid-driveway after a battery

Garage remote

After a garage door remote battery swap, retest from mid-driveway before the curb so you catch weak range early — one small beat.

After a garage door remote battery swap, do not walk straight to the curb. Retest from mid-driveway first — if it fails there, end-of-drive range will fail too, and you catch a weak cell or learning issue sooner.

Retest garage remote range from mid-driveway

  1. Install a fresh garage remote battery with correct polarity and close the battery door firmly.
  2. Stand at mid-driveway (halfway from house to curb) and press open once — wait for a full cycle before judging.
  3. If mid-drive fails, reseat the battery and clean contacts before you walk farther out or mash the learn button.
  4. Only after mid-drive works, step to the end of the driveway for a final check — then stop; do not keep pressing if the door already cycles cleanly.

Honest stop: mid-drive success with curb failure can be interference or a weak antenna path — not another battery swap loop.
