Find your fridge water filter model
Fridge filter
Read the filter housing, the old cartridge, and the full refrigerator model plate so you buy the right water filter the first time.

Taste, cloudy ice, or a flashing filter light usually means the cartridge is due — but only if you buy the exact filter family for your refrigerator. Series names on the door badge are not enough.
Where the number lives
Check these spots and write down every character:
- The old filter itself. Twist or push to release only as far as the manual allows. The part number is often molded or printed on the end you can see once it is out a little.
- Inside the grille or housing (ceiling of the fridge compartment, base grille, or door). Many units print the filter family next to the stall.
- The full model plate on the cabinet wall or behind the crisper. Match that model on the maker’s filter chart — not the marketing name on the front.
Photograph the old filter and the plate. Retail search works better with that string than with “French door fridge filter.”
Change cues people actually notice
- Water or ice tastes dusty, plastic-like, or flat after months of clear taste.
- Ice cubes look cloudy or smaller than usual with no other ice-maker change.
- The reminder light or “Replace filter” message is on (some clocks are time-based, not flow-based).
- You cannot remember the last swap and six months have passed — a common household interval when the maker does not print a shorter one.
If water flow is suddenly weak right after a new filter, reseat it until it clicks and check whether a temporary bypass plug was left in place.
After you install
Run several gallons through the dispenser (or follow the maker’s flush steps) before drinking. Reset the filter reminder in the fridge menu if your model has one — installing the cartridge does not always clear the light by itself.
Coraco Studio™ does not sell filters and has no live store links yet.
