Vacuum bags — flatten a pinch crease in the bag collar
Vacuum bag
A pinch crease in a vacuum bag collar can block a flush seat and kill suction. Flatten the cardboard collar before you latch — one beat.

New vacuum bags sometimes ship with a pinch crease in the cardboard collar. That crease can keep the bag from seating flush and show up as lost suction — flatten the collar before you latch the door.
Flatten a pinch crease in the vacuum bag collar
- Before seating, look at the cardboard collar edge — if a shipping pinch folded a corner or lip, press it flat with your thumb.
- Slide the bag onto the inlet so the collar sits square; a remaining crease will leave a gap you can feel with a fingertip.
- Close the door until the interlock clicks, then run a short suction check on a hard floor.
- If suction is still weak with a flat collar and empty bag, check the hose clog path next — do not keep reseating the same creased collar.
Honest stop: an aftermarket collar that is simply too thick will not flatten into a seal — match the bag type your vacuum lists.
