Vacuum bags — store spares flat and dry

Vacuum bag

Vacuum bag tip: store spare vacuum bags flat in a dry spot so the cardboard collar stays straight and seals tight when it is time to swap.

A bent or damp collar is one of the quiet reasons a new vacuum bag will not seal. How you store the spares decides how well they fit later.

Keep spare vacuum bags flat

  1. Keep spare bags in their box, lying flat, not crushed under heavy items.
  2. Store them in a dry closet, not a damp garage or under the sink.
  3. Do not fold the cardboard collar to make bags fit a smaller space.
  4. Note the bag type on the box flap so the right size is easy to grab.

Flat and dry is the whole beat. A straight collar helps the next vacuum bag seat on the first try.
