Printer ink cartridges — mark color multipacks vs single-color boxes

Printer ink

Color-channel multipacks of printer ink cartridges mix CMY sleeves in one box. Mark each sleeve with the ink cartridge number so XL and standard do not get swapped.

A color multipack of printer ink cartridges often ships cyan, magenta, and yellow in one sleeve set. Label each cartridge with its ink cartridge number (and XL vs standard) the day you open the box so you never seat the wrong color stall.

Mark color-channel multipacks of printer ink cartridges

  1. Open the multipack and read every sleeve: note color letter, exact ink cartridge number, and whether it is standard or XL.
  2. Write the number and color on a small tape flag on each cartridge body before storage — do not cover chip contacts.
  3. Store upright cool as usual; keep singles and multipack leftovers in separate bins so a lone cyan does not vanish into a mixed box.
  4. At install time, match door diagram + number + color — never guess from ink color alone when XL and standard share a look.

If the machine rejects a seated cartridge after a clean install, stop restacking cleans — confirm number and XL class first.
